A Tetrazzini a köztudatban olasz ételnek, olasz receptnek hitt, pedig nem az. Amerikában született, több mint 100 évvel ezelőtt, nevét egy amerikai operaénekesről kapta, (Louisa Tetrazzini, 1871-1941).

Sajttorta láthatatlanul csokisan

A sajttortákról mindig egy még Amerikában, a Cheesecake Factory-nál eltöltött nap jut az eszembe...

Nem véletlen, hogy miután hazatértem (már jó régóta) csak gyártom, csak gyártom a sajttortákat. Van aki meglepődik ezen?

Ezt sajttortát nagyon szeretem, mert ha nem mondom el, hogy mivel készült, nem látni rajta... Hogy csokis... Hogy fehér csokis...

Hirtelen meg sem tudnám mondani, hogy hányszor készítettem már chilit. Hol ilyet, hol olyat, de még véletlenül sem amolyat, amit Magyarországon a legtöbben chiliként ismernek és főznek.

Évtizedes emlékeim fűznek a bagelhez. Egyszer volt, hol nem volt időkben megjelent az Arany János utcai Metro megállónál egy gyorsétkezde, ahol finom bageles szendvicseket lehetett enni. Aztán Amerikában is élve a mindennapos életem része lett a bageles szendvics.

Nem is ismerek olyan háztartást, főleg ahol gyerekek is vannak, ahol ne került volna már legalább egyszer az asztalra sajtos tészta, megsütve. Nehéz ezeknél egyszerűbb és valóban finom recepteket kitalálni. Olyat sem, amelyik ennyire nem kíván még minimális főzési tudást sem, ez az igazi gyerekjáték vacsora.

Ezt az ezerarcú kreol ételt sokféleképpen készítheted, akár így is. A Jambalaya elronthatatlanul egyszerű étel, főzd meg, variáld kedvedre, mindig biztos siker. Amennyire egyszerű, annyira gyorsan az asztalodra is kerülhet. Még bulgurral is (rizs helyett). Azonban még a bulgurral sem válik éppen fogyókúrás étellé...

Magyarországon is vannak rajongói az amerikai futballnak. Ami valljuk be, hogy közelebb áll szabályaiban az ősi futball játékhoz, mint amit mi európai focinak hívunk. Ugyanakkor nehéz Magyarországról elképzelni, hogy Amerikában mekkora esemény egy amerikai futball rangadó.

De milyen társadalmi esemény az NFL Super Bowl döntője?
